Facetime Frostie has several names.

Frostie. ARTBOY. Savoir Frostie. Facetime Frostie.

Each name reveals another part of the Houston artist’s identity, but none of them completely defines him. He is a musician, visual artist, DJ and visionary working across every medium necessary to construct his own world.

Calling Frostie a rapper would be too restrictive. Calling him only a musician would leave too much out.

He belongs to a generation of independent artists who understand that the music is only one piece of the experience. The sound matters, but so does the image. The clothes matter. The artwork matters. The environments matter. Every photograph, performance and release becomes another clue pointing toward the larger idea.

Facetime Frostie is not simply releasing songs. He is developing a character, a visual language and a universe that can continue changing with him.

His catalog can be traced through projects including MINT CONDITION and the five-track FACETIME FROSTIE EP. Songs like “#FULLY,” “#FOMO,” “#MAKEITSEXY,” “#RIPSHAWS” and “#MARTINEROSE” helped establish an artist interested in creating more than disconnected singles.

Now, Frostie is entering his next chapter with “#TEETH.”

“#TEETH” IS OUT NOW

“#TEETH” feels like an introduction to the current version of Facetime Frostie.

The title is sharp, physical and slightly uncomfortable. Teeth can represent beauty, aggression, hunger, insecurity or survival. We show them when we smile, but we also expose them when we feel threatened. That tension makes the name feel appropriate for an artist whose work refuses to fit neatly into a single emotion or category.

The release is not presented as a song floating by itself. It arrives with a larger identity surrounding it, using imagery, styling and visual direction to bring listeners deeper into Frostie’s world.

There is already an endless amount of music available at every moment. Releasing another song is easy. Making people feel like they have entered a new environment is harder. Frostie appears interested in the second option.

“#TEETH” marks a shift from releasing music to constructing an era. The track gives the audience a new entry point into his work, but it also leaves enough unanswered to create anticipation for whatever follows.

And something is already following.

“#LOSING” IS COMING SOON

Frostie’s next release, “#LOSING,” is currently on the way.

WHO IS NOT?

The visual world surrounding “#TEETH” is connected to NOT, the creative identity also known as NicksIllusion.

NOT is a Houston director, editor, cinematographer, videographer and DJ whose work moves through music, nightlife and underground culture. His involvement with Frostie goes beyond simply taking a photograph. The cover image created by NOT helps establish how this chapter is supposed to feel before the audience even presses play.

Like Frostie, NOT resists being contained by one title. His work includes music videos, event documentation, editing, live visuals and DJ sets. He has also worked as a creative director and videographer with Houston event platform AMPED, placing him inside the same spaces he documents.

Recently, NOT worked with Loe Shimmy during the artist’s Houston album release and with Percaso at Rolling Loud Orlando. Those are two different levels of the same culture: a city moving in real time and one of rap’s largest stages. NOT has placed his eye inside both.

His reach is no longer limited to Texas. Paris became a real marker, with NOT performing at events there as a DJ while creating new visual work across the city. His movement through Paris and other major cities is turning the name into something that travels, even while Houston remains at the center of what he is building.

What he is building is larger than a traditional production portfolio. NOT is creating a living media system around underground culture, one that can shoot the artist, soundtrack the room, direct the image, shape the night and carry the evidence into the next city.

Not a production company. Not a party. Not a DJ. Somehow, all of it.

The collaboration between Frostie and NOT makes sense because both artists understand the same thing: music does not become culture through sound alone. It becomes culture when a song develops a face, a feeling and a world people want to enter.

Facetime Frostie is creating that world through music. NOT is helping us see it.
