Seven years ago, Faded Decade planted itself at 1310 Nance Street in Downtown Houston’s Warehouse District. What opened as a streetwear storefront has grown into something far less ordinary: a meeting ground where fashion, music, art, photography, skate culture, events and independent ideas continuously collide.
The Houston chapter officially began on August 23, 2019. The Faded Decade story, however, reaches back even further.
SEVEN YEARS IN HOUSTON
Founded in 2014 by Rome, Dedd and Ciz, Faded Decade began by merging music and streetwear into one creative vision. Its first T-shirt collection arrived on September 8, 2014 and quickly sold out. Through clothing releases, music and pop-ups at The Barn, the early brand became a community before it ever became a Houston destination.
Faded Decade opened its first storefront in Huntsville in January 2017. After outgrowing that space, the team moved toward a larger stage. In the summer of 2019, FD relocated to Houston and opened the Nance Street shop that still anchors the brand today.
MORE THAN A STORE
The shop has never functioned like a conventional retail floor. It carries independent local labels, hosts changing events and gives Houston’s artists, designers, musicians, skaters and outsiders a physical place to cross paths. Faded Decade does not simply sell culture back to the city; it gives that culture somewhere to gather, experiment and build.
Its archive reads like a map of Houston’s creative ecosystem. Faded Decade has worked with artists including Kirko Bangz, Peso Peso, Cypress Moreno and Trill Sammy; joined forces with Houston vintage curators Union Station; linked with Persona by Maxo Kream; and carried its hometown language into an official Houston Texans collaboration.
The music has become part of the institution too. Rome and Dedd formed Underground Standard in 2024, expanding the Faded Decade world into a collision of alternative rock, post-hardcore and underground rap. Within months, the band had supported OMENXIII and shared sessions with That Mexican OT and Denzel Curry—another reminder that FD’s creative reach has never stopped at clothing.

Seven years in Houston have proven that a brand can become much bigger than the clothes it sells. Faded Decade is a business, a platform, a venue, a record of the city around it and a creative home for the people still shaping what Houston becomes next.
Faded Decade is The Underground Standard.
